Deception on a Personal Level
GENESIS 3:6
6 ¶ And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes (Notice that there is a strong visual factor connected to Eve being deceived. One of the biggest areas of personal deception is when something looks pleasant to the eyes but underneath it is poison because mostly things that look pleasant to the eyes (we are talking worldly things) are hiding death and poison and heartache and sorry just under the surface), and a tree to be desired to make one wise (she wanted to know about this secret knowledge of sin), she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. (Now she is spreading her new found deception knowledge with others – this is the pattern of how deception and death spreads like a virus from one person to another)
MATTHEW 24:24
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
(But we know that it is impossible for the elect of this age to be deceived, because she has already received the headship of the word)
Deception on a Personal Level
There are many forms of deception and many levels of deception – a nation can be deceived by another nation, a company can be deceived by another company in a business transaction.
And then there is when a person is deceived on a personal level, and this is by far the most common area of deception in the world today.
The definition for “deception” is described as the act of making someone believe something that is not true – so deception takes place at a belief level (what you believe) which is at your soul level. So deception at a personal level is really a spiritual condition.
There are many words that are also used in association with this word deception such as - fraud, cheating, trickery, duping, hoodwinking, underhandedness, deviousness, slyness, cunning, craftiness, guile, bluffing, lying, treachery, crookedness and so forth.
***Deception on a personal level is when you make a discussion based on information that you have received in whatever way, and you form a belief about a certain thing that you believe that that information is correct – it makes sense to you, and you think that following this pathway in life will bring you prosperity and happiness and a higher quality of life, but then you find out later (and often when it’s too late) that your understanding at the time wasn’t quite right and that you have made a mistake in your decision because you based your judgement on false or partly false information of what you thought looked good at the time.
We have all had experiences like that at some level.
And the reason that this happens to us is that we mostly don’t know actually know or have all the truth about what we are making our decision about, we just see an advertising or something and make a decision based on what someone else has presented to us from their angle, and it looks on the surface to be a good thing.

48 And in my room one morning I got up, and there was a television setting in the room. And I thought, "Look like bad weather." And I thought, "Well, at eight o'clock they ought to have the news." And I got the little manual; it said news at a certain time.
I turned the news on, and when I was hearing the news, then I noticed that in the middle of the newscast they broke off to advertise some kind of a goods, some kind of a detergent. And said, "You don't have to wash your dishes any more, lady. The only thing you do is stick it right down in the water and let it set there a couple minutes, raise it right up and put it on the drain board; it's all over."
I thought, "I'm going to be a hero when I get home." I put the name of it down, this certain stuff. I said, "I'll tell my wife, 'Look what I can do.'"
So I went and got a bottle of this such-and-such of stuff, and I squirted it all in the water, told her to continue on sweeping the house, I'd fix it up for her. So I got the children's plate and raked out the crumbs, and so forth, and the egg sticking on it, and dropped it down in the water, and let it set a few minutes, and picked them out, and set them up there. There's just as much egg on them as there was when I put in there. See, I--I'd have lost... My wife would lost confidence in me by that time.
52 You see, why does the nation, why does these--this nation let the people be deceived? That oughtn't to be allowed to be said like that. That ought to be against the law.
We are easily deceived when we only have part of the truth about something, because when the whole truth is revealed, then that is what actually uncovers the deception – and we know that God’s word is the whole truth, and so that is why if we ever make a decision that is opposing the word of God in some way, then we cannot possibly be in the leadership of the Lord and we are automatically by default in a state of deception because we are trusting in our own limited understanding and reasoning instead of in the eternal truth of the word of God.

E-7 When God made man, He made him thus; for He made this little certain compartment in the man for His own throne, His control tower. God wants to lead man, but man wants to lead himself. Therefore there is a war constantly. The man wants to go after what he sees with his eyes. That's where he's deceived. That's where Satan deceived Eve, by what she could see; the fruit was pleasant to the eye. But it was death to the soul.
**In this day and age we find ourselves living in such a visually influenced world, and so Satan has taken advantage of this and used the medium of television as a tool to deceive the people of the world in this age as he did in the beginning with Eve.
And so as a result of this we find ourselves living in the greatest time of darkness (darkness in the bible is spiritual ignorance) where people are being taken in by scams of all various kinds of personal deception because they are actually walking in great darkness of a Laodicean age and they don’t know that they are – they are blinded to the fact.
There is so much information out there that it is almost impossible to know what is true and what is only part true (and which part is true and which part is a lie) and then what is a total lie.
Opening scripture:
GENESIS 3:6 ¶ And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise…
In Genesis we see that a woman was deceived on a personal level through the medium of her visual world that looked attractive to her eyes, and if that was what we saw in Genesis in seed form, then we must also see it repeat again in Revelation at harvest time in multiplied form at this end time age.
REVELATION 13:11-15
11 ¶ And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. (This beast (power) is the nation of America with the two horns of civil and ecclesiastical powers (religious freedom and civil rights), that is what America was founded on these two principles).
12 And he (America) exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
(This beast who was before America and whose deadly wound was healed was the Roman Catholic Church. The nation of Rome (Pagan Rome) fell and was delivered a blow unto death, but the spirit of the Roman nation came back to life again in the Papal religious spirit of the Roman Catholic Church with all the pagan ways of the old Roman nation now living on in the Roman Catholic Church)
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, (The two atomic bombs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki)
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
(Notice an image is something that you see with your eyes, in other words, sight and deception are again associated together at the end time when not just one woman (Eve) was deceived on a personal level, but the entire world would be drawn into deception – this is why Hollywood has been so successful in influencing the entire world by the visual aid of television – Eve was deceived by the influenced and the deception of what she saw by tele – vision, by what the serpent told her and by what she saw with her eyes)
15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
The image of the beast is the Catholic and the Protestant churches combined together in the form of the world council of Churches.
So when the church and state unite together again in this end time age, then we will see the same thing that we saw in the dark ages where they will put everything to death that doesn’t agree with them.
PROVERBS 16:16-20
16 ¶ How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!
(It’s good to have silver and gold, but wisdom is better because you can lose all your money, but when wisdom is given to you by God, then that is the very source of all wealth.
Job lost all of his silver and gold, but he never lost his wisdom and in the end he became twice a wealthy as he was before – but if you don’t have wisdom and you lose your money, then there is a good chance that that loss will be permanent)
17 ¶ The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul. (A person that maintains his position in the way of truth and righteousness)
18 ¶ Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
(That is what has become of this age – a haughty spirit that Hollywood has produced in the masses by the deception of television)
19 ¶ Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
20 ¶ He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.
***When the wisdom of God and humility come together in a person – then that is what is reflecting God, because these two qualities are a part of God’s two great characteristics.
LUKE 11:31
31 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here. (Notice - Jesus was greater than Solomon in wisdom)
MATTHEW 11:29a Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: (Jesus had both wisdom and humility together)
But when Ignorance of the word of God and pride join together, then that person or church or nation (depending on whatever level this is on) is doomed for destruction.
This is exactly what happened to king Nebuchadnezzar when he was lifted up with the pride of his own ability and lost his mind and went insane – a type of this age that is also going into total insanity because of pride and arrogance against God.
In Genesis we find that one woman was deceived on a personal level.
In Revelation we find that all the people of the world that are outside of the knowledge of the revealed word of this hour are also being deceived (each one on a personal level).
So what we saw in Genesis with one person is now in multiplied form in Revelation with every individual on the earth outside of the elect of God.
In the message "A Deceived Church By The World" preached by brother Branham in June 1959, brother Branham takes his text from Judges 16 with the story of Samson being deceived by Delilah which represents the false church of this hour.
We find that Delilah had combined with the state military might that was backing her just like we see prophesied in Revelation 13 where the church and state (Rome and America) will unite together in this hour to bring deception upon all those whose names are not written on the Lambs book of life, but the elect of God will not be deceived because the full truth has been revealed to her.
***If the false church is deceived by the world, then the true church must be enlightened by the word.
The opening and the revealing of the word to the bride in this hour is the only thing that will withstand the deception in this hour – no other truth or secret knowledge, or conspiracy theory will do it, only the revelation of the opening of the full word in this hour will be able to stand against the deception of this hour.
Look at Daniel’s day – the state changed the law relating to his religious belief, and in one day Danial was made a criminal and was thrown into the lion’s den, but remember - that was also the time when the lions came into a condition of what they were before the fall of man - this is like Adam in Eden again, and that is promised in this age because the angel has brought back to us the title deed of the ownership of the earth by the opening of the seven seals.
**The animals under the Prophet Noah’s ministry came into an Edenic condition and were at peace with one another while under the influence of Noah at that time.
Like the killer bull that would have killed brother Branham if it hadn’t been for that divine love that God gave to him right then.
The terrorists of today – many of them believe in one God (Allah), we also believe in one God (Jesus Christ).
They believe in woman dressing different to men, we also believe in woman dressing different to man.
They believe in the discipline of their children and bringing them up in their belief, and we also believe the same thing in principle – so you can see that as message believers we could very easily be labelled and put into the same category by the law of the land as the terrorists in the mind of the world.
The failure of the entire world and the entire human race of mankind, and the entire animal kingdom and botany life and all the sea life was when one individual woman was deceived on a personal level.
Genesis – One woman personally deceived in her belief.
Revelation – Now the whole world is deceived by each individual person of the world being deceived personally in their belief – because deception has to do with your belief.
But the bride of Christ in this hour is promised that she would not be deceived because she is not a part of the world but she is a part of the word – she is the word, and it is impossible to deceive the word itself.

E-57 I heard Billy Graham say the other day in a message; he said, "The elected is already deceived." No, no. The elected ain't going to be deceived. No, no. They won't be. No. church members will, but not the elected. They was chosen from the foundation of the world. They cannot be deceived. It's impossible, said Hebrews 6. They will not be deceived.

40 …See, the Bible said that false Christs would rise in the last days and would deceive the very elected if it was possible. But it's not possible. No, sir. The elected was foreordained, so they will not be deceived. You see?
238-4 THYATIREAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.6
Thank God the sheep will not worship him (referring to the antichrist). Everyone but the very elect will be deceived. But they will not be deceived. For they hear the Shepherd's voice and they follow Him.
What is the secret to all of this…
***Notice how that in Eden, that Adam wasn’t with Eve when she was dealing with the serpent. But in this end time age, the Bride and Groom are already united together in marriage, and His mind is already in her – the two have become one by the revelation of the word of this hour.
69-1 EPHESIAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.3
…But we have discovered that the Word also teaches an invasion of error until there is a complete blackout of truth in the last day when the Lord is about to appear. The question now arises in our minds; does God forsake His own and let them fall into a state of complete deception? On no account, for the Scripture says very clearly in Matthew 24:24, that the 'Elect' CANNOT be deceived.
In closing – please listen carefully:
A woman is the most deceivable creature on earth, and that is not a bad thing at all because God made her that way, and we know that the way that God makes something is always right the first time, he didn’t make a mistake by designing the woman like that, so there is a very good reason why God designed a woman that way, and that is because she was not designed to have her own personal form of protection, because God designed her husband to be her protection part, because man was made in the image of God and God is reflecting himself in the man showing his relationship with us because he is to be our headship and protection.
***Eve’s protection against deception was her headship which was Adam; she did not have the capacity within herself, so the first little trick that was played on her, she fell for it hook, line and sinker. Had she stayed behind her headship (Adam) instead of trying to reason things herself, then the fall in Eden could never have taken place.
So why will this last day Eve not be deceived? Not because God has changed the makeup of the Woman and given her her own ability to defend herself and withstand deception, but because she has come into her correct position of her headship in this hour under Christ the word, she has forsaken her own reasoning and has taken on the mind of Christ by the revelation of the word for this day.
Notice in Genesis - Eve did not involve Adam when dealing with serpent. But in contrast, this end time bride is not even talking to the serpent, she is staying directly behind her husband who by the opening of the seven seals has unveiled himself to her and has pregnated her with the seed of the original spoken word of the revelation of Himself.
Part of what the seven seals revealed was to uncover the deception of how the anti-Christ has been deceiving the people since the time of Eve by the White, Red, Black, and Pale horse powers, but since Satan’s plan of deceit has now been uncovered to the bride, then his tricks don’t work anymore because the truth has exposed him and wrought him powerless against the people of God.
**The access to true freedom and protection is by receiving the headship of the word and remaining in that position.
In counselling people, the biggest reason why Christian counselling fails is because when the counsellor gives the scriptural answers and the scriptural remedies for a particular problem, the people often refuse to do what the word of God tells them to do, and the reason for that is mostly because (like Eve) deep down they esteem their own reasoning above the word of God – they don’t actually believe the word because like Eve they believe their own personal opinion more than the word, and the results is the same as the results that Eve experienced – they become deceived on a personal level.
The only way to avoid becoming a part of the deception of this hour is to get into your position behind the word of God that has been revealed through the vindicated prophet that God has sent for this day.
***The Bride of Christ isn’t a deceived church by the world, she is an enlightened church by the revelation of the word.
