The Mystery behind the History of our Lives
MATTHEW 12:40-42
40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
(The history of Jonah’s life became the prophecy of Christ’s future, just as the history of Ruth’s life became the prophecy of the end time gentile bride’s future – what has been is that which shall be :Ecclesiastes 1:9)
41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. (Notice – two separate generations that are hundreds of years apart are all being raised together at the same time – this is the general resurrection at the great white throne judgement)
42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

**We are shown here that God is going to judge these people who rejected the ministry of Christ in Jesus generation by a woman from a previous generation (of over 900 years beforehand) who came from the uttermost parts of the earth (around a 2000 mile journey at that time) in order to hear the wisdom of God that came through the ministry and gift of King Solomon. Notice - a woman judging an entire generation because of the history of her life of how she responded to the word for her day)
**Jesus is showing us something of how the judgement will look like at the great white throne, it won’t be so much that God is sitting there with a big book of rules and laws that He is judging from, but He will be judging by the example of the lives of others who received the word in their generation.
I KINGS 10:1-3
1 ¶ And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions.
2 And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.
3 And Solomon told her all her questions: there was not any thing hid from the king, which he told her not.
We saw the repeat of this same gift of the revealing of the secrets of the heart in the ministry of Jesus Christ with the woman at the well and with others at that time.
And then we have also seen this same ministry and gift rise up again in our generation in an even greater manifestation than that of Jesus earthly ministry in the revealing of the son of man through the seventh’s angel’s ministry – yet this generation that we live in now has refuse to show respect to the voice of this prophet, and so God will use a woman again who will become a judge of this generation by the history of her life of how she showed respect to the gift of God.
The Mystery behind the History of our Lives
ECCLESIASTES 1:9-10
9 ¶ The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.
*What has been is what shall be – this is how we can know the events of this time that we are living in, because modern events are made clear by the mystery of the prophetic word that has been revealed to us at this time.
*The mystery of Abraham and Sarah being turned back young in order to receive the promised son is a mystery that is revealing an event that is to take place in this hour.
*The events of the gentile woman Ruth coming into Boaz’s field at harvest time is a history of Ruth’s personal life, but behind the events of her life is a mystery that is showing us a gentile people at this harvest time.
So the history of Ruth’s life was to become the events of a future people – her history becomes the history in the lives of an entire end time bride of Christ, and so that same mystery of Ruth’s history becomes the same mystery of our history, so that when God opened the seven seals and revealed the mystery behind the history of Ruth, he also revealed the mystery behind the history of your life also – so the mystery of your life was sealed up in the bible.
MATTHEW 12:40-42
40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
(This event in Jonah’s life was a direct prophecy of a future event of when Christ would also be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth – but until the day Jonah died, he would not know this mysterious part about his life, about how the supernatural God wrote a prophecy of Christ into the events of his life, but now it is written in the bible so that all the world can know it – so what was sealed from him during his lifetime, Jesus takes that seal off and reveals the mystery part of Jonah’s life to the world – God wrote a future prophecy of Christ into the history of Jonah’s life while Jonah was unconscious to the fact)
41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. (Notice – in the general resurrection that takes place at the end of the Millennium (when all that were not resurrected in the first resurrection will be raised up at that time), there will be these witnesses of the men of Nineveh assembled at the great white throne Judgement that will speak out in judgement against these ones who had had a greater one than Jonah preach to them and yet they did not repent)
42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
Again this queen of the south (which we know was the queen of Sheba) is also raised up at this time of the great white throne judgement.
And so in the previous scripture we see a whole group of the men of Nineveh raised up to be a collective witness, but then in contrast we see just one person (a single woman) raised up in judgement against an entire generation.
*So from a group of many men all the way to a single woman, God will have witnesses from each generation that responded to the word of truth for their day.
*We notice that what qualified them as witnesses against these others was by how they responded to the truth that God was speaking for their day - this is what the great white judgement will be based on – it won’t be based on that the men of Nineveh were better men then other men, and it wasn’t based on how good a life the queen of Sheba had lived during her lifetime, it was based upon their attitude and response to the message that came through the channel that God had sent for their day – so this is always the criteria.
**Why is there all this judgement in the world today? – it is because that this generation has spurned a prophet of God.
The white house could have had a direct phone line to a prophet of God just like Israel had with their prophets. It would have made them the greatest nation in all the world, but they rejected that privilege.
***So when we read the historical events of Jonah’s life, we can see that even in His rebellion (when he was running from the presence of the Lord) that God was writing a great mystery into the history of his life - and that mystery was the life of Christ.
*When Jonah give his life for the sailors – that was the mystery of Christ giving His life for us being written into the history of Jonah’s life.
*When Jonah was swallowed by the whale, that was Christ going down into the grave for 3 days and 3 nights.
*Then Jonah was resurrected like Christ, then Jonah was sent to the Ninevites (a gentile people) like Paul was sent to the gentiles after the resurrection of Christ.
But yet when Jonah got to the end of his life, he never came to understand the mystery behind the history of his life – he had to wait until Christ Himself would break the seal and revealed the mystery behind the history of his life.
MATTHEW 12:40
40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
**Only Jesus was able to break the seal that sealed up the mystery of Jonah’s life and reveal the mystery of his history to us, because the secret of his life was that there was a supernatural part in that God was writing the mystery of redemption into the events of his life without Jonah even knowing it – if fact, Jonah went to his grave in total ignorance to what we can all read here in this one verse – that is why sometimes the events of your life are all confusing to you, but there is a mystery behind the history of your life also that only God can reveal that mystery.
LUKE 24:10-31
10 It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.
11 And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not. (Notice here again – the witness of women. In the old times a woman’s witness was not considered to be something that you would put a lot of confidence in – but we see here that God chose these woman to be the first witnesses of His resurrection, and then to go and tell His disciples. Sometimes in this day it is also the women that see these things of the revealing of the son of man before even their menfolk do, so that is scriptural)
12 Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.
To be continued -the Lord willing...
