The Three Comings of Christ
MATTHEW 24:35-37
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. (Notice that his coming that he is speaking of here was to be kept a secret and was not to be revealed until the days of the voice of the seventh angel when all the mysteries were to be made known at that time)
37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
In Noah’s day there was a population explosion and the whole earth became full of violence, and we also know that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men that they were fair, in other words the woman of Noah’s day used cosmetics to beautify themselves and make themselves attractive like this age that we are living in today – These are key clues to the time of when the Lord would appear the second time.
MATTHEW 25:6
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
Christ’s second coming would also be at a time of darkness – at night time, a time of spiritual ignorance, and it would be under these conditions of when this shout would sound out to introduce the bridegroom which we know the shout is the message of this hour.
The Three Comings of Christ

Most denominations only recognise two comings of Christ – but we know that there are actually three separate comings of the Lord as taught to us by the scriptures and by the message of the hour.
- Christ’s first coming was through the womb of a virgin to redeem His bride by paying the price of his own blood and life to buy back the human race of what Adam had forfeited.
- Then His second coming is when he comes in the form of the revealing of the son of man in order to claim His bride and to steel her away in the rapture like how Romeo stole Juliet away at night time.
- Then His third coming is when he comes with his bride in power and in glory to make war on the earth and to overcome his enemies and restore peace to the earth and usher in the millennium.
***So he first comes to redeem his bride, then he comes the second time to claim his bride of which he paid the price for her redemption at his first coming, and then he comes the third time with his bride in power and in glory after the marriage supper.

67-2 …There's always been a number of three all the time. There's three comings of Christ. He came once to redeem His Bride. He comes the next in the rapture to catch away His Bride (Remember that the rapture is made up of three parts of the shout, voice, and trump – so these three parts is the process of his second coming of how he comes to catch away his bride - this is His coming as a thief in the night that only his bride will recognise). He comes again in the millennium with His Bride.
So there are your three comings of the Lord that we want to study on and there are so many scriptures that we want to look at that refer to the three separate comings of Christ, and it always seems to be the nature of man to connect the wrong scriptures to wrong comings and the wrong season and time.
ACTS 1:6
6 ¶ When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
In other words - is it at the time of this coming that you will restore the kingdom of Israel? – they thought that all the scriptures that talked about his coming in power and glory and the restoration of Israel applied to that time, not knowing that this first coming of Christ was meant for the purpose of him coming to bare upon himself the sins of the world as the sacrificial lamb of God.
**Let’s look at some of the scriptures that we know refer to the first coming of Christ to redeem his bride as brother Branham explains to us.
GENESIS 3:15
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed (a woman has to be given a seed because she doesn’t have a seed of her own, so this is Mary who received this seed that was given to her by the overshadowing of the Holy Spirit); it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
**This scripture is referring to Christ’s first coming when Satan would bruise Jesus heal on the cross, but then by that bruising Christ would destroy Satan’s headship and claim over man by sin.
ISAIAH 7:14
14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
MATTHEW 1:22-23
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
MICAH 5:2
2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
***We want to look at different scriptures that give references to the three separate comings of the Lord and then by the revelation of the message of the hour place those scriptures into one of those three comings.
JOHN 14:1-3
1 ¶ Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions (Theophany bodies): if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
This is of course referring to His second coming when he comes to receive his bride to himself in the marriage of the lamb.
This word “receive” you unto myself, is the Greek word paralambano which means to join to one's self; an associate, a companion, to receive with the mind; by oral transmission.
**So this receiving unto Himself is by the transmission of his word that he has sent in this day through the voice of his vindicated prophet.
If we were to paraphrase – “I will come again and join myself to you by the revealing of myself through the oral transmission of my word, and then we will be united as one by that word, that is how I will receive you unto myself”.
ZECHARIAH 14:1-5 (This is a scripture concerning the third coming of Christ)
1 ¶ Behold, the day of the LORD cometh (That’s his judgement), and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
We all know that this is his coming with his bride in power and glory to restore the kingdom in the millennium.
MATTHEW 24:30
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. Again his third coming in power and glory
*Let’s get another scripture on this third coming in power and glory.
COLOSSIANS 3:4
4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
We shall appear with him in glory at the same time that He appears in power and glory. This scripture could also be applied as a compound scripture in that he has also appeared to us in the form of the revealed word of this hour, and the bride has also appeared on the scene at this time also, and his glory is to be revealed in her.
REVELATION 19:14-15
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
All these scriptures speak of his third coming with his saints.
REVELATION 1:7
7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. (This is certainly not His second coming as a thief in the night)
JUDE 1:14-15
14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
15 ¶ To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
Again – His third coming with his saints.
I THESSALONIANS 3:13
13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
“With all his saints” – again, his third coming is with his bride.
Now let’s look at some scriptures pertaining to the second coming of the Lord to take his bride.
II PETER 3:10
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. (Was the earth destroyed after the world rejected Noah’s message?)
I THESSALONIANS 5:1-5
1 ¶ But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness (the Laodicean age – the midnight hour), that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light (the bride age), and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
MATTHEW 24:42-44
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. (This is speaking of the secret coming of the Lord which we know is his second coming)
43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come (Notice how Jesus is showing us again how his second coming would be like a thief, it would not be a public show but a secret coming during the night time of the Laodicean age when all others would be asleep and not watching), he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. (Broken up is destruction – so after this coming as a thief there would follow a destruction)
44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

156 And the first thing you know, you're going to find out, you say, "Well, isn't it written that we should have a Rapture?"
157 And it'll be like it was by John the Baptist. They said, "Isn't it written in the Scripture that there should be, first, there would be Elias come?"
He said, "Elias has already come and you didn't know it."
158 One of these days, when Tribulation sets, you'll say, "Wasn't there to be a Rapture first?"
159 And it'll be, "It's already past, and you knew nothing about it." See? It'll come like a thief in the night.
Brother Branham is referring to the second coming of the Lord as a thief in the night, and a thief comes to do 3 things - to steal, kill, and destroy. To steal away his bride like Romeo stole Juliet. To kill those who have rejected his mercy with spiritual death, and to destroy those who have destroyed the earth.
MATTHEW 25:6
6 And at midnight there was a cry made (midnight, darkness - that was when the shout when forth which we know is message of this hour. This has already happen!), Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
This is his second coming when he is coming to receive his bride.

36 Now here is the same today, that the clergy, we don't read it right. It's just like it was then, they didn't think that it was time. They--they thought that they were living pretty peaceful then, and so they wasn't looking for no Messiah. And Jesus has said that His coming would be "as a thief in the night," when the--when the people would be unaware of His Coming.
MATTHEW 24:27-28
27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (This word lightning means “light shining”, and light shining is the revealing of the word, the evening time light (“at evening time it shall be light”), and this light of the revealing of the son of man is going to shine all the way from the east to the west showing us that this light of the revealed word in these last days would shine throughout the entire world to the elect of God in every nation from the east to the west)
28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
***Notice – if you are an eagle, then you will be gathered around the revealed word carcase of this hour - that is the first place that we are gathered to, and then after that we are gathered with the sleeping saints that will be resurrected, they will gather with us, and from there we are all gathered to the marriage supper of the Lamb.
But to be gathered to the marriage supper, you have to first be in attendance at the marriage which takes place when his bride receives the word of her husband which is Christ – this is where we are right now at this time.
MATTHEW 24:36-37
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
LUKE 17:26-30
26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

E-24 Jesus said, "When the Son of man is revealed from heaven." Let me close by saying this: that the Son of man is now being revealed from heaven.
"Will it come after while, Brother Branham?"
It is now. And I hope I won't have to make this so personal of this own meeting, but that your spirit within you that's give you by God, can read what I'm talking about. The Son of man has already come from glory and is revealing Himself for the past few years to His Church in mercy, showing them His great Presence, doing the same things that He did when He was here on earth, revealing Himself like He did to Abraham. Before the destruction, He has come now in mercy, revealing Himself to the Church.

That's what He said. That's the sign that He promised at the end. Ju-... What'd He say it would do? "It would be known in the days, the last days, when the Son of man will be revealed." Be revealed! When the Son of man is revealed, that will be the sign He'll be revealed by. Now see if That don't say that. Certainly does.

But to the real believer, He stood with His back to the tent, and He said, "Abraham." He was Abram the day... a few days before, that. But now he is Abraham. "Where is thy wife, Sarah?"
152 Said, "She is in the tent, behind You."
153 Said, "I'm going to keep My promise to you. I'm going to visit you."
II THESSALONIANS 1:7
7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, (seven of them)
I THESSALONIANS 4:15-16
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,
3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.
What are the seven thunders? – The revelations contain in the seven seals.
