David’s Beam and the Rich Man’s Mote

MATTHEW 7:1-5

1     ¶ Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2   For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3   And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? (A mote is like a little twig – and a beam a long, sturdy piece of squared timber used to support the roof or the floor of a building.)

4   Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5   Thou hypocrite (pretender an actor), first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

II SAMUEL 12:1-6

1     ¶ And the LORD sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor.

2   The rich man had exceeding many flocks and herds:

3   But the poor man had nothing, save one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up: and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own meat, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as a daughter.

4   And there came a traveller unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him; but took the poor man's lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him.

5   And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the LORD liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die:

6   And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.

(David was this man – but he had such a great beam in his own eye that he couldn’t see to judge rightly concerning this man that had taken another man’s lamb when he himself had done much worse and taken another man’s wife – your eye is your understanding to understand truth and justice according to the word of God)

David’s Beam and the Rich Man’s Mote

Last week we spoke on the second half of the subject of “Touch not Mine Anointed” referring to the anointed bride of this hour who has been anointed by the prophetic anointing of the message of this hour just as kind David had been anointed by Samuel to be king over Israel.

*We know that until the prophecy of God through Samuel had come to pass in David’s life, he was effectively invincible because he was under the supernatural protection of God so that nothing could touch him until the prophecy of Samuel had come to pass in his life.

*David knowing this had no fear to face Goliath because he knew that the supernatural hand of God would be his protection – and so we can also know this concerning ourselves in this hour because we have also been anointed by the eagle anointing of a prophetic word and so we are also under a great prophecy concerning this hour. This bride would become an invisible army.

- So we didn’t really get to finish that message properly but felt we had gone far enough to get the main idea.

We were going to look at how the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him, so when the anointing changed we see how his whole thinking changed with that anointing – he couldn’t see how his wanting to kill David was wrong when David had only done him good because his reasoning was affected negatively by a false anointing.

***So it is the anointing that you are under that affects the way you think – your understanding. That is why we need the Holy Ghost to be able to understand the message for this day – and that is why the evidence of the Holy Ghost is a clear understanding of the word for your day.

ADOPTION.1_ JEFF.IN AD.1 SUNDAY_ 60-0515E

67   How many's received the promise of the Holy Ghost? Oh, aren't you glad that you're in the land over here now, eating the old corn, eating the strong things of God, and got a clear understanding. Your--your spiritual mind is all unmuddled up. You know exactly Who He is. You know exactly What He is. You know exactly where you're going. You know exactly all about It. You know in Whom you have believed and persuaded He's able to keep that which you've committed to Him against the day.

We know that Ruth was required to wash and anoint herself before her private meeting with Boaz at the threshing floor at the evening time showing that at this evening time hour we are also required to be washed by the water of the word and to anoint ourselves by a clear understanding of the message by the eagle anointing of this hour.

Our eyes cannot see clearly unless we apply the anointing of the word of this hour – in other words we cannot see the light for this day without applying the ointment of the eyesalve of the reveal word that God has made available to us in this hour.

REVELATION 3:18

18   I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

The eyesalve is the message of the hour that when we anoint the eyes of our understanding with it, then we can truly see and understand the age that we are living in.

We finished with this quote last week…

CHRIST.IS.THE.MYSTERY.OF.GOD.REVEALED_ JEFF.IN V-3 N-7 SUNDAY_ 63-0728

380     And in there, there would be a time come forth when He could express Himself in fullness of His Godhead, Deity, through His Church, have the preeminences in this Church. Oh, my! What? The anointed Man; now the anointed people; oh, my, to bring back the anointed Bride and the Bridegroom. Anointed by (why?) accepting what Eve turned down, and Adam; coming back with the anointing of the Word, because He said, "My Word is Spirit." See, anointed with the Word. What Eve turned down, He comes back and we accept.

**Eve turned down the word that had been revealed to her for that hour – but we accept the word that has been revealed to us in this hour – that is the difference.

The last couple of Wednesday night’s we have been doing a little bible study on 2nd Samuel chapters 11,12,13 mostly by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to see how the Lord would open these things to us. And we have been trying to direct these teachings toward the young peoples (and older couples also) because the world would have you taught wrong about these things.

*All the Mills and Boon romantic fiction stories that these young people of the world read are mostly not the reality of real life nor do they uphold the correct teaching of the word, and so young people get the wrong ideas of these things and go into relationships with all sorts of imaginations that the world has formed in their minds, and then they can often end up with their lives in a mess because of this wrong teaching and expectations that are contrary to the word of God.

***When Amnon forced his sister Tamar in 2nd Samuel 13, it was his imagination that he was trying to act out of what he thought would be a gratifying experience, just to find out that the reality was a big fat mess of disappointment and disgrace.

***That is why it is important for engaged couples to receive Godly counsel before marriage to prepare them for these things so that their lives can be bless together and not end up in disappointment because of the glamorisation and the misinformation that the world has influenced into their thoughts.

*We know by the teaching of the message of the hour that the process of which children are conceived was not the intended way that God meant from the beginning.

***We know that the animal way was taught to the human race by the serpent first teaching it to Eve and then by Eve teaching it to Adam, and because of that wrong teaching it has introduced many problems and troubles into the human race that God never intended to be. So God had to put boundaries in the word to protect his children.

GENESIS 3:13-14

13   And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

14     ¶ And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

Notice that there was a cursing from God that followed this act of adultery.

The original sin in Eden was by Eve doubting the word of God that led to her committing adultery with the serpent – and then the next thing of what followed that act was murder (when Cain murdered Abel).

***Then when we see that King David committed adultery with Bathsheba in 2nd Samuel 11, we also see the same thing following his adultery was the murder of Uriah.

**Then when Amnon forced his sister Tamar, murder followed that act also with Amnon being murdered by his brother Absalom just like Cain murdered Abel.

**So we see that adultery and murder are often associated together.

**It is interesting to note how that Jesus puts these two sins of adultery and murder as the two top sins on his list when he answers the questing of eternal life.

MARK 10:17-18

17     ¶ And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?

18   And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

19   Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.

So as Eve was deceived in this area, we see that many in this day are also deceived by the influence of the world today in this same area especially in this environment of Satan’s Eden.

**Young people sometimes think they are so smart because they think they know so much about sin and sex that the old fogies that try to tell them things know nothing.

**The reality is that most of what the world would teach you about these things are lies that they have received from Satan to bring cursing into their lives and marriages.

HE.CARETH.FOR.YOU_ PHOENIX.AZ V-14 N-5 TUESDAY_ 60-0301

67   The coming of destruction of the world, all the things that has been are now vanishing. All hopes is gone, and the world has nowhere to stand. They're drinking, gambling, marrying, given in marriage, because they have rejected the true Foundation of comfort, the Holy Spirit.

But we who believe in Him, are looking for a Kingdom to come (Blessed be the Name of the Lord.), where there'll be no more sorrow, or crying, or heartaches; but peace, and joy, and love, and immortality shall take its place someday.

69       Cast your cares. If you have cares, cast them on Him, for He careth for you.

**So when we look into this sin of David in Chapter 11 of 2nd Samuel, we see that something lied into David’s mind when he saw Bathsheba bathing. He somehow imagined that having her would bring blessing into his life even though she was another man’s wife - but we know that that was all just a lie in his imagination, and that the reality was actually the complete opposite just as it was with Amnon’s imagination of how much fun he thought he was going to have with his sister Tamar. The reality for him also was that instead of blessing it resulted in a great disappointment to Amnon so much so that after the event he hatted Tamar exceedingly. All these fantasies that had been formed in Amnon’s mind concerning Tamar were actually lies from the devil, so that when the reality came it was so different from what he imagined and was such a let-down for him, and then it produced such a cursing in his life that ultimately led to him being murdered by his brother Absalom – so all his imagination was in fact just a big lie that he had entertained in his mind that actually ended up destroying his life and also the life of his sister Tamar.

***That is why that often even message young people will go into their marriage with false expectations because along the way they have been falsely influenced by the world concerning these things, and instead of it being a blessing and fulfilment in their marriage in the way that God intended it to be, it can become a lasting problem that become a curse in their marriage – and that is just what the devil wants, so then he will try and get the husband to go and look somewhere else for what he’s not getting from his wife, or the wife look somewhere else also. This is a big part of what causes adultery – and it all begins with a lack of the correct teaching of the word concerning these things.

**Don’t follow the influence of the world concerning the glamorisation of these things especially when it is contrary to the teaching and the instruction of the word of God.

**So when we get to chapter 12 of 2nd Samuel, we see that even though David had committed the two top sins on the list (Adultery and Murder) in chapter 11, we see that there had been no repentance even though he was given space by God to repent.

**So David had a beam in his eye of the sin of Adultery and Murder, and the beam was that he didn’t really think that he was a too bad of a guy living under these conditions – his vision of truth and righteous judgement had been greatly marred.

II SAMUEL 12:1-6

1     ¶ And the LORD sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor. (We know that the rich man was kind David, and the poor man was Uriah)

2   The rich man had exceeding many flocks and herds: (This is David with his many wives and concubines)

3   But the poor man had nothing, save one little ewe lamb (This poor man is Uriah with Bathsheba as his only wife), which he had bought and nourished up: and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own meat, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as a daughter.

4   And there came a traveller unto the rich man (The traveller was David’s sexual desire that came to him when he saw Bathsheba washing herself), and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him; but took the poor man's lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him. (Instead of David taking one of his own wives to satisfy his passion, he took another man’s wife)

5   And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the LORD liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die:

(Remember that David already has this sin in his life as a beam in his eye, and under these conditions we notice that he is unable to see clearly when judging this man that dressed another man’s lamb for a meal for his traveling guest, and so David pronounces a death sentence over the man blinded to the fact that he himself has taken the life of a real man and had committed adultery which is the real sin that is actually worthy of death as recorded in the law of Moses. Remember that David understood this to be a real event of what Nathan the prophet is telling him of. ***So if this had been a real event, then David would have again killed a man unjustly according to the Law of Moses. ***So we can see here that he cannot see clearly to take the mote out of the rich man’s eye because he has a beam in his own eye)

6   And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.

This is what Jesus is addressing in MATTHEW 7:1-5 (Opening scripture)

1     ¶ Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2   For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3   And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4   Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5   Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

*So we want to first look at our own lives to see if there be anything in us that we need the Holy Spirit to forgive us and to wash us and to take away the false things out of our lives – all the false imaginations that are contrary to the word of God.

**It is always a tendency for us as human beings to think that we can easily see and deal with the sins in other people lives and not realising that we need to first look at ourselves – this was the message of Samuel to king David of how God dealt with his sin.

There were four judgements pronounced upon David by Samuel…

- the sword shall never depart from thine house

- I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house

- I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives

- the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die

***Notice that it was the son of David that died instead of David himself; this was representing Christ the son of David that would die on the cross in David’s place.
