The Greatest Gift

MICAH 5:2

2   But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

LUKE 2:1-7

1     ¶ And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.

2   (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

3   And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

4   And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

5   To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

6   And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

7   And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the (Denominations) inn.

MATTHEW 2:1-12

1     ¶ Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

2   Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

3   When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. (Notice that all Jerusalem was united with Herod in his distress against the birth of the word for that hour – Jerusalem then is a type of the denominations today)

4   And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.

5  And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,

6   And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

7   Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.

8   And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also. (Notice that he was seeking to gather private information from these message believers so that he could bring a persecution on the word made flesh for that hour)

9     ¶ When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

10   When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

11   And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. (These gifts all spake of the life that he would live)

12   And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

The Greatest Gift

As human beings, the greatest gifts that we could ever have are our relationships with one another – and thee most greatest gift of all is our relationship with the Lord, because he was the greatest gift to humanity.

Notice that the star led these wise men to a relationship with a person – that was the whole purpose for them being led by the star for two full years, and that is why God sent the seventh angel star to us in this age – to lead us to a relationship with the person of the word.

There are two great gifts from God in the bible – the first one is when he gave us the gift of himself in the form of Jesus Christ his son, and the second gift that he gave to us freely is Eternal Life.

ROMANS 6:23

23   For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

JOHN 3:16-17

16   For God so loved the world, that he gave (a gift to the world) his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17   For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

JOHN 4:9-10

9   Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

10   Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

Many people today are rich in material gifts, they are rich in worldly knowledge, they are rich in entertainment, they are rich in fame and body image and lifestyles and cars and houses, but often these same people are very poor in their relationships.

______________

Prophets and Ministers of the word are also gifts sent to the people – they are angels of God sent into the earth to influence men toward God, but the people mostly reject and despise these gifts that God sends them.

E-20   …And the world has always attacked the gifts of God. And Jesus was God's greatest Gift (look how the majority treated him, in the end they kill him). Jesus was God's love Gift to the Church, and the Church is God's love gift to Jesus. God so loved world that He gave. See? "All the Father has given Me will come." See, it's a love affair. (A love affair is a relationship, and this relationship that we have with Christ is the greatest gift that we could ever receive – that is why we are to fall in love with the revelation of the word for this day – because the word is Christ)

It is amazing how that people don’t want the gift of God, they will even try to discredit and attack the gift that God has sent to them.

E-23 …And when God sends a gift to the earth, and the people reject it, that generation goes into a chaos of blackness, and darkness, and rejecting of God. For God judges that generation by the way they judge His gifts.

Now, Jesus was God's greatest gift. And He was trying to tell them that they had rejected His message. They rejected... Sodom rejected the message of the Angels. And in Noah's age, that age rejected Noah's message. And then He begin to refer back to some that did accept it, and He gave illustrations in it. And He said, "Then at any generation that received God's gift, or God's message, that generation always prospered and become a great generation." It's the attitude that you take towards any Divine gift of God that brings forth the results that you'll get from it.

May we always cherish and respect the gifts that God has sent to us in this hour – especially the word of this hour.

This gift of Christ the word and revelation for this day has been misunderstood and despised by many. Herod and all of the denominations are troubled at it, but like the wise men we understand this great gift, that it is a person, and so like the wise men, we come into a personal relationship with this gift which in this day is the word of this hour.

**Never let the message of the hour become common to us – never let each other become common – may God help us to always cherish and keep our relationships with God and one another pure and true.

Never let the devil get in between you and your brother or sister in the Lord and bust up your relationships with one another – we have seen the devil do that from time to time – JOHN 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
