The Kinsman Redeemer and the Kinsman Avenger

GENESIS 9:6

6   Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

REVELATION 6:10

10   And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? (These were Jews under the alter that knew the law of God back here in Genesis 9:6. Notice what they were asking the Lord – “when are you going to carry out your duty as our kinsman avenger against those who have shed our blood under Hitler and Eichmann”)

REVELATION 17:4-6

4   And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

5   And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

6   And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. (She looked so beautiful and holy and religious)

The Kinsman Redeemer and the Kinsman Avenger

Introduce this subject… this is quite a deep subject that will take more than one service…Try to break it down and make it clear...

In the Hebrew of the Old Testament, the Kinsman Redeemer and the Kinsman Avenger is known as the Goel Hadam - it is the same person, he is simply a close relative who is able to perform these duties.

The word Goel in conventional Hebrew means to redeem or to avenge. “Hadam” is translated as “the blood” of which when shed causes death. “The Avenger of Blood.”

The obligations of this Goel Hadam (a near a kinsman who is able) includes the duty to (1) redeem the relative that had been obliged to sell himself into slavery (Leviticus 25:48–49); (2) to repurchase the property of a relative who had had to sell it because of poverty; (3) to avenge the blood of his relative in the case of if his relative is murdered; (4) to marry his brother's widow in order to produce a son for his brother in the case that the brother had no son at the time of his death to pass on his name (Deuteronomy 25:5–6); and (5) to receive the restitution if the injured relative had died (Numbers 5:8).

So in a case of where a near relative of the Goel Hadam had been killed by a person unintentionally, then the slayer would flee to the closest of one of the 6 provided cities of refuge where he would be granted a trial and protection if the death he caused was proven unintentional to the satisfaction of the elders of the city (we would call this manslaughter in today’s language – he killed the man by accident) – Notice that this was a time of investigation judgement. But if on the other hand he was found guilty of intentional murder, then he would be turned over by the elders of the city to the nearest relative (the Goel Hadam) for justice to be carried out according to the word of God – and in this case he would be put to death by the Goel Hadam because it was the responsibility of this nearest relative as the Kinsman Avenger to perform the execution on this man to avenge the innocent blood of his slain brother according to Genesis 9:6.

GENESIS 9:6

6   Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

REVELATION 18:24

24   And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth. (These are the people of God that had had their blood shed by this great city that was clothed in fine linen and purple and scarlet – the Roman Catholic Church, also known as the Great whore)

REVELATION 19:1-2

1     ¶ And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:

2   For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

Cities of Refuge provided by God for the man slayer

JOSHUA 20:1-6

1     ¶ The LORD also spake unto Joshua, saying,

2   Speak to the children of Israel, saying, Appoint out for you cities of refuge, whereof I spake unto you by the hand of Moses:

3   That the slayer that killeth any person unawares and unwittingly may flee thither: and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood.

4   And when he that doth flee unto one of those cities shall stand at the entering of the gate of the city, and shall declare his cause in the ears of the elders of that city, they shall take him into the city unto them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them.

5   And if the avenger of blood pursue after him, then they shall not deliver the slayer up into his hand; because he smote his neighbour unwittingly, and hated him not beforetime.

6   And he shall dwell in that city, until he stand before the congregation for judgment, and until the death of the high priest that shall be in those days: then shall the slayer return, and come unto his own city, and unto his own house, unto the city from whence he fled.

***When we remember that it was our sins that caused Christ blood to be shed on the cross – even though we may not have done it intentionally, we effectively caused his death because of our sin, so that is why we also need to flee to the city of refuge which has been provided for us also, which is Christ.

PROVERBS 18:10

10     ¶ The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

THE.BREACH.BETWEEN.THE.SEVEN.CHURCH.AGES.AND.THE.SEVEN.SEALS_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 63-0317E

89-4 {138}   All right, in the Bible, in the Book of Ruth as you read it you'll find out such a person was called the goel, G-o-e-l, was called the goel, or it was a person that could meet the requirement; and the goel must be able to do it, must be willing to do it, and must be a kinsman, next to kinsman to do it. And God, the Creator of spirit, became kinfolks to us when He become man in order He could take our sin upon Him, and pay the price, and redeem us back to God again.

There it is. There is the Redeemer. Christ has redeemed us now. We are now redeemed, but He has not claimed His possession yet. Now, you might different with that, but just hold on a minute (See?); we'll see. See?

90-1 {140}   He hasn't claimed it. See? If He took the Book of Redemption, everything that Adam had and everything that he lost, Christ redeems back; and He's already redeemed us, but He hasn't took the possession yet. He cannot until the time appointed, and then will come the resurrection, and then the earth will be renewed again, and then He will take possession, His possession which He got when He redeemed us, but will do it at the appointed time. Oh, my.

This is described in this seven-sealed Book that we're talking of now. All right. The Book of Redemption, it's all described in here. All that what Christ will do at the end will be revealed to us this week in the Seven Seals if God will let us. See? All right; it'll be revealed.

We can see how this subject is connected with this hour that we are living in now of when he is executing out his judgements of Kinsman Redeemer and Kinsman Avenger.

So we know that with all these laws of God regarding this Goel Hadam, it is for the purpose of revealing the nature of God in that he is not only a kinsman redeemer but he is also a kinsman revenger to anyone that hurts or murders with intent one of his family relatives – he has become our Goel Hadam by becoming kinsman to us in the form of Jesus Christ.

***He is both lamb and Lion – He is our Kinsman Redeemer and our Kinsman Avenger – Christ is our Goel Hadam.

GENESIS 3:1-4

1     ¶ Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

2   And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3   But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

4   And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

**Notice here that the serpent wanted to make Eve believe that God was not a judge in that he was only a God of love and that he wasn’t a God of judgement.

Just like many say today that “my god is bigger than your god”, in other words “my god is a god of love and forgiveness and no matter what I do he is not a judge”, and so this is the same deception that Eve was deceived into believing, she thought that only the good things of his word applied to her and the judgment things of the word didn’t apply – but God is both lamb and lion, redeemer and judge.

I KINGS 4:29-34

29     ¶ And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.

30   And Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.

31   For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all nations round about. (This is a type of the millennial age where the son of David (Christ) by his great wisdom will rule and bring peace to all the nations of the world)

32   And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five. (Now notice next what he is going to speak of)

33   And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes.

34   And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom.

***Notice that his wisdom was being channelled by God to unlock the mysteries of the creation, because all these things of the trees and the beasts and the birds and fishes all originated from the eternal thoughts of God, and so they are only expressions of what God is, and so each species of botany life and animal life and bird life and fish life all join together to reveal the one great God of his great thoughts and attributes of what he is, and so Solomon began to unveil the mystery of God through the wisdom that God gave him to reveal the nature and characteristics of this one great God through the mysteries of the creation of the creator.

**There was a great mystery of Christ hidden behind the lion and the nature of a lion. There was a great mystery of Christ hidden behind the lamb, and the eagle, and the Ox, and the trees and botany life. He was the tree of life, he was the Lamb of God (The redeemer) he was the Lion (the judge), He was the eagle (the prophet), He was prophet, priest, and king.

All of nature declares this one great God.

ROMANS 1:20

20   For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Everyone can see the creation of what the great creator God has made.

REVELATION 10:5-7

5   And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,

6   And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:

(This same God that created all these things and that gave Solomon the understanding of the birds and the animals, and trees and fish life is going to speak in this age by his prophet’s voice – a greater than Solomon is here now to reveal this great God to a people of this age again)

7   But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

So God is prophet (son of man) Priest (son of God) and King (Son of David in the millennium) Eagle, Lamb and Lion king.

THE.REVELATION.OF.JESUS.CHRIST_ JEFF.IN ROJC 9-67 SUNDAY_ 60-1204M

251   "I always believed that God the Father had long, white beard, white hair; and the Son was a middle-aged man; and the Holy Ghost was a mascot boy." Brother, that's paganism. That's pagan. If you believe in three gods...

The very first commandment... What is the first commandment? "Hear ye, O Israel; I'm the LORD your God, one God."

That's it. He's one God, not three gods. He lived in three offices, served three places. He's Prophet, Priest, and King. He's Eagle, Lamb, and--and Lion. He's the Lily of the Valley, the Rose of Sharon, the Lily of the Valley, and Morning Star. He's the Root and Offspring of David. He's from A to Z. He's Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. He's all that, but He's One. He's one God. That's His titles that goes to Him, but there's one God.

**We know that in the Church ages he was the slain lamb making intersession as our high priest, but in the millennium he will be the Lion (the King), and the king is also the judge – that is why Solomon was a great king and also a great judge of the people. Abraham called him the judge of all the earth.

*So he was “prophet” (the son of Man) in the form of Jesus of Nazareth while in his earthly ministry in the body of Jesus Christ.

Then he changed his office to that of a “Priest” interceding on behalf of the ignorance of the people during the 7 church age’s dispensations, and then we know that he will be the King of kings as the son of David in the Millennium. But in-between his office as priest (7 church ages) and King (1000 years of millennial reign) he reveals himself again as Son of Man (prophet – eagle) during this in-between time between his Priesthood and his Kingship.

***So in between the seven church ages and the Millennium he is revealing himself as son of man again – that is exactly the time that we are living in now.

THE.UNVEILING.OF.GOD_ JEFF.IN V-9 N-1 SUNDAY_ 64-0614M

68     Notice now, He came first as the Prophet, and they crucified Him. His own crucified Him. He came as the Son of man.

69   Then after the Holy Spirit came, He was then the Son of God. God is a Spirit. He was the Holy Spirit, Son of God. He lived through the church ages as Son of God.

70   Now, in the Millennium, He'll be Son of David, sitting upon the Throne of His father, David. He is the Son of David, now.

71   And, remember, between the Son of God... In the Laodicea church age, they put Him out. And in Luke, He said He would be revealed again as Son of man, the Prophet, fulfilling the rest of it. See? The Scriptures tie perfectly together. Son of man, Son of God, Son of David.

THE.IDENTIFIED.CHRIST.OF.ALL.AGES_ TOPEKA.KS V-20 N-1 WEDNESDAY_ 64-0617

50     Then when He died, rose, ascended, and sent back the Holy Spirit, that was the Son of God. God is a Spirit, and through the Church Age it's been Son of God.

51   And then in the Millennium, it's Son of David, setting on the throne, ruling. He has ascended up. "He that overcomes shall sit with Me on My throne, as I have overcome, and set down on My Father's throne." He is setting on the Father's throne now. But in the Millennium, He sets upon His Own throne, because He is the Son of David.

52   He is Son of man, Son of God, Son of David. See, it's just perfectly.

DOES.GOD.CHANGE.HIS.MIND_ LA.CA V-18 N-4 TUESDAY_ 65-0427

175     Now Jesus said, just before the Coming of the Son of God, or the Son of... the second Coming, that this age that we live through...

176   He come as Son of man, a prophet, because that fulfills the Scripture. Moses said, "The Lord your God shall raise up a prophet like unto me." We all know that was Jesus. Don't we? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] So He had to come according to the Scripture, a prophet. He never called Himself the Son of God; He called Himself the Son of man.

177   But now He is, through the Church age now, He has been Son of God. In the Millennium He'll be Son of David, sitting on David's throne. But between this time, we find out by the Scriptures, He is to reveal Himself again as Son of man, a prophet.

*So we want to look at this in-between time between the time of David’s throne and Solomon’s (the son of David’s) throne – because that is the time we are living in right now – we are now living in this between time after the 7 church age and before the Millennium.

***Remember that we have been called out of the Laodicean age by the voice of the seventh angels message – yes we are still living in Laodicea as far and what is around us in a world that is full of the darkness of spiritual ignorance, but we have been called out of that condition by the voice of the seventh angel’s message to come up higher into an Eagle age to see the fullness of the light and word of this age - our bodies are in Laodicea, but we ourselves have been caught up into the bride age.

***So when we go to 1st Kings:2 – we see that this is speaking of this exact same in-between time, so we know that this has to be a prophecy of what is taking place in this hour.

I KINGS 2:1-9

1     ¶ Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,

     2   I go the way of all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and shew thyself a man;

3   And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:

4   That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.

5   Moreover thou knowest also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two captains of the hosts of Israel, unto Abner the son of Ner, and unto Amasa the son of Jether, whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war upon his girdle that was about his loins, and in his shoes that were on his feet.

6   Do therefore according to thy wisdom, and let not his hoar head go down to the grave in peace.

7   But shew kindness unto the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be of those that eat at thy table: for so they came to me when I fled because of Absalom thy brother.

8   And, behold, thou hast with thee Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite of Bahurim, which cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim: but he came down to meet me at Jordan, and I sware to him by the LORD, saying, I will not put thee to death with the sword.

9   Now therefore hold him not guiltless: for thou art a wise man, and knowest what thou oughtest to do unto him; but his hoar head bring thou down to the grave with blood.

We see here that the judgement of the father is being committed to the son to carry out judgement, and this is taking place right between the time of David’s throne, and before the son of David’s throne.

MATTHEW 13:24-30 - Harvest time is both redemption and judgement… and harvest time also takes place at this in-between time.

24     ¶ Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

25   But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

26   But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

27   So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

28   He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

29   But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

30   Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
