EXODUS 20:1-6
1 ¶ And God spake all these words, saying,
2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: (this word “graven” means a stature that is built for the purpose of worship)
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them (when you bow down, it is an act of submission and respect to one that has rule over you), nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; (This sin of false worship has a generational effect)
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
MATTHEW 4:8-10
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Worship and Service
We want to answer the question of what is it to truly worship and serve the Lord, especially in this hour when it is promised that the whole world would worship the beast and the dragon?
Notice – That the bible begins with the true and false worship of Cain and Abel worshiping God in Genesis, and the bible also ends with true and false worship in the book of Revelation at the end of the world.
REVELATION 13:8
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
**So we want to see and understand that the only true worship in this end time age would be among a people that have received the truth of God for this age, because true worship can only come from a true revelation of God, and he is the word - He is the way and the truth and the life.
*So we want to talk about this so that we can know clearly and know for sure that we are truly worshiping the Lord and not the devil, we want to know clearly that we are on the right side, because this is the greatest age of deception where many think they are worshiping the Lord but are in fact worshiping the devil.
**This is a great age of worship and service; there has never been a greater age of worship where the entire world is worshiping and is serving what they worship.

Revelation 13:8,
"And all that dwell upon the earth (all whose names are not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world) shall worship him." (Notice that false worship reveals where your name is written)
Thank God the sheep will not worship him. Everyone but the very elect will be deceived. But they will not be deceived. For they hear the Shepherd's voice and they follow Him.
Notice the difference – the true believers and worshipers (whose names were written in the Lamb’s book of life from the foundation of the world) - they HEAR and FOLLOW HIM

*The word “worship” is a verb – a doing word, it is something we do, worship is a lifestyle, it is not just an occasional activity like with praising the Lord in church song service, it is an attitude of the heart toward the word.
***Many people get praise mixed up with worship in thinking that it is the same thing. **Praising the Lord can certainly be a part of worship, but it is not necessarily worship itself because true worship must first come out of a truth that produces a lifestyle.
Worship is first an attitude, and then that attitude of the heart produces what we do and how we go about our lives – so a big part of our worship toward God is the way we conduct our lives. So if we truly love God, then we will do the things in life that will serve him and serve his purpose for this hour.
- If we loved the sport of rugby, then that attitude will motivate us to serve and attend the rugby matches and give our time and our money for its purpose, our love for something affects our lifestyle and our love is proven by our lifestyle.
The dictionary meaning for the word “Worship” = the feeling or expression of reverence and adoration for a deity - to have or show a strong feeling of respect and admiration for God or a god. *That is why you can’t have the right feeling towards the true God without first knowing him by the truth of His word – absolute truth reveals the true God, error will not reveal the true God, error may reveal other gods, but never the one and only true God.
*If you have an adoration of God with a false teaching and concept of Him, then there is no way God can accept that adoration.
**There are many “gods” – objects of worship – the word “God” means object of worship. People adore and worship many things, almost anything can become and idol and an object of worship.
There are hot rod gods, people serve and worship hot rod cars, they can become an idol and a god, money can become and idol and a god, your belly can become a god, woman in this age have become idols and gods, they are adored and bowed down to and worshiped - people live their entire lifestyles around the worship and adoration of woman.

PSALM 86:8-12
8 ¶ Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.
9 All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.
10 For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.
11 Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
12 I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.

55 …Now, notice. In the--the human body, our make-up, our regular anatomy that we live in here, is not made to sin. It's made to do righteous. It's made to serve God. God never made you just to work, and come home and love your children. That's all good enough. God made you to work. God made you to come home, love your children, love your wife, and the wife to be loyal and love her husband, the children love their father and mother. That's all good. But God made you...
That's just the backgrounds for something that God made you to do. God made you to be a worshiper, a worshiper of Him. You'll worship something, regardless of what it is. You'll worship your wife. You'll worship your children. You'll worship anything, your automobile, your... You'll worship your pleasure. You'll worship something, because it's in mankind to worship. Now, we want to know what we worship.
JOHN 4:23-24
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth (remember that it is the spirit that leads you to the truth and to true worship – when the Holy Spirit comes into you, it will lead you and guide you into all truth): for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Another bible translation says “Even now the true worshipers are being led by the Spirit to worship the Father according to the truth. These are the ones the Father is seeking to worship him”.
You cannot worship God with a trinity of 3 persons in one God understanding, or an eternal hell of torment understanding, or Eve ate apples understanding. A false part word understanding will never produce the correct worship toward God that God can accept and receive – he must refuse all worship outside of absolute truth because He is truth.
***So true worship for the age that you live in must be according to the revelation of what God has revealed in your age or it is not true worship.
III JOHN 1:2-4
2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
3 ¶ For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
What a shame it would be to get to the end of our lives and find out that all of our service and worship to the Lord was all for nothing because we were not in the truth.
**When Cain tried to serve and worship God by the fruit of the field, that worship was not by the correct revelation of the truth, and so God refused that worship, but Abel’s worship was received because it was according to the revelation of the truth.
MARK 7:5-7
5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
The scripture is making it plain here that if you are sitting under a ministry that is teaching the doctrines and the commandments of man, then regardless of how you may think you are worshiping the Lord, your worship and respect of God under that false teaching is empty and a waste of time. False teaching can never produce the correct lifestyle and a true worship toward God.

289 Think of it. His hardest pierces comes from the pulpit. That's where His new Calvary is at. They crucify Him, the Word, at the pulpit. That's right. How, how'd they do it? By their forms of godliness. That's exactly!
290 Crowned from the audience, by scoffers! He's got a new crown of thorns, scoffers! Pierced from the pulpit; crowned by the scoffers. Is He crucified again, afresh? Striped by man-made creeds, teachers of denomination against His Word. They stripe It, in shame, condemn It.
291 Jesus said, "In vain they worship Me." In vain, "don't do no good." Who they worship? They worship that same God. They was worshipping that same God at His first crucifixion, and it was vain worship. It's the same thing today. In vain they build these denominations. In vain they build these seminaries. In vain they have these creeds, teaching for doctrine the commandments of man, and denying the Word of God. They're guilty of crucifying the Prince of Life, teaching man's doctrines for His Word. "In vain they worship Me," striped, pierced, crowned.
